Thank you all for your kind comments on my grandfathers death, And it has been a hard time on my family. My father and mother comforted me by telling me that he would now be out of his pain, for he had been in a lot. What was quite interesting was that I had never spent much time with my grandfather and I had never really been able to communicate with him (for I fail at chinese) but a month before his passing, he came to visit me and my siblings. Thank you all again for your nice comments and I'm sure if my grandfather was here today he would really appreciate these nice thoughts.

To the family of Wing Lui,
Our family read of the passing of Wing Lui with surprise and sadness. We have been clients for several years. I think that we found him when my son was in grade 4 and started to wear long pants with his uniform. Wing Lui would hem them in September, so they could be lengthened again in December. "I make ok. No Cut", he would say. That way the pants would usually last him all school year. He was always a gentleman and concerned that the item he was altering would be suitable or last for some time. Most recently my son and husband purchased suits to be worn at my son's high school graduation. Since he was leaving for Ontario in 3 days, Wing Lui did the job quickly for us. "Ido for you". Of course he did a fine job and the suits looked great on both of them at the big event on the 25th of June. So, we read with sadness that he had passed away before that date. Please know that there are people who appreciate Wing Lui's skill, gentleness and kindness. We are certain that the inhabiitants of heaven are learning of his skill and are pleased with their well fitting garments these days!
With sympathy,
Diana, Gary and Joel Nason

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of my friend Mr. Wing Lui. I had been going to his tailor shop for almost 30 years. During that time I found him to be a noble and gentle man, proud of his craft and proud of his family. He was always pleasant, always chatty, and I always left his shop with him shouting "have a nice day" as I banged through the screen door. That phrase in his adopted language of English would stick with me all day, making me feel pleased inside and knowing my friend cared.
I hope he has many nice days now too as he rests after a life's work. He will be missed.
Sincerely

On behalf of my Mother, and myself, I would like to say how sad I was when I heard Wing had passed away. My family and I have known him for 15 years and in that time we had come to know how kind he was. It is strange now coming home and not seeing him working in his shop or outside tending to his beautiful garden. He will be truly missed. I feel honored to have known him. Please pass along mine and my Mother's heart felt condolences to all members of the family.

Sincerely,

Michael Crouch

On behalf of my Mother, Nella Smedley, and myself, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to you on the loss of your father. He was a talented craftsman, a gentleman and a gentle man. My family has lived on Roseberry for 35 years and came to depend on Wing Lui for all our alteration needs - he could take on any project and never failed to produce a finished article of the highest standard. I'm going to miss seeing him go for his daily walk - a wave from him and a flash of his delightful smile was always an added bonus to my day. Judging by all the family photos in his workroom, he was a very proud father and grandfather - I know you will all miss him but I'm sure you will have many happy memories of his life. My mother and I were pleased and honoured to have made Wing Lui's acquaintance, we only wish it could have continued for many more years.

Sincerely,
Rosemary Smedley

I had the pleasure to meet Wing Lui in his capacity as a talented tailor. He was excellent at his work and always had a smile ready whenever I would show up with a pile of clothing needing his magic touch. I will miss his unassuming, friendly manner and I wish his family many happy memories of their time with him.

So sorry and shocked to learn of Wing's passing. We were friends and neighbour before he sold his house. I shall miss him and his energetic walks and pleasant smile.
