William Arthur Sharpley

Sharpley -William Arthur died peacefully on September 25, 2009 in Victoria, BC after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 30, 1932 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Predeceased by stepson Glenn Patterson and daughter Judy. William is survived by his wife Cora (Mayhew) Sharpley; daughter Brenda (Sharpley ) Stockli and his grandchildren Grant and Kasey. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Bill met Cora through mutual friends at the Hudson Bay Company after being transferred from Saskatchewan. Within a few years married Cora in Victoria, B.C. raised Cora’s son Glenn and continued on to raise daughters Judy and Brenda. He established and successfully managed VIP Soap Products for many years, one of the first environmentally safe soap and cleaning products. In retirement he began to really enjoy life with numerous sports, hobbies and travel. He especially enjoyed seeing his grandchildren Grant and Kasey involved in their various activities.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver St., on Monday, October 5 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Hospice or Cancer Agency in your province. Special thanks to Victoria hospice staff!! For making this much loved man at peace and at rest at this difficult time.
