Thelma passed away in Victoria, BC, on November 7, 2013. Predeceased by her husband, Bud, in 1996 and her parents, Nada and Reginald Morris. Survived by her son, Gary (Caroline), daughter, Sandra and grandchildren, Robert and Leanne. A caring and generous person, Thelma will be sadly missed by her family and all those who knew her. Born on June 29, 1926 in Edmonton, Alberta; raised in Tenby, Wales, she was proud of her Scottish and Welsh heritage. Thelma was a Private in the C.W.A.C., stationed in London, England during WWII. She moved to New York City after the war and then to Vancouver, where she and Bud were married in 1949. They were long time residents of North Burnaby, where they raised their family. During the last 15 years, Thelma lived in Victoria. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Mt. Edward’s Court Care Home who gave Thelma such excellent care and affection.
No service at Thelma’s request; a gathering of friends and family will be announced privately, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ALS Society or the charity of your choice.
