Terry passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at age 74. He will be remembered with love and deeply missed by his wife Lynn, of 30 years; his children, Shaun (wife Stephanie), Kim (husband Stephen), Kitrina (husband James), Sarah (partner Rob) and Mason (partner Andrea); grandchildren, Ashley, Kitrina, Thomas, twins Emily and Sophie, Kate, Wendy and Samantha and nephews, Darel (wife Terry) and Rick. Terry was born in Victoria in 1937. He graduated in mechanical engineering in 1965 from UBC. His passion for engineering brought him across the world with his career. Terry lived in Vancouver, Fort Lauderdale, London, England and Montreal. Eventually he came back to his roots and moved to the home where he had been born. Throughout his life, he had an unending fascination for sports cars, motorcycles, planes, helicopters and pretty much anything that could move.

 We will miss you.

A Memorial Service will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, at 2:00 pm. on Monday, December 5, 2011. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I’ve thought of you often since you haven’t been there to bump into at the “office” but now more than ever. My heartfelt sympathy for what you are going through. (what a great photo of your guy on a bike!) Rhonda

  • Tas Deschamps (nee Duncan)

Our family, the Duncan’s lived on Eldon Place at the same time the Mesher’s did. My older brothers and Terry used to ride bikes around the neighborhood. Apparently, as a young girl, I loved to follow Terry around and that is where my nickname came; Little Tassie, from following Terry around. Over the years it has been shortened to Tas. So many times I have been asked how I got my name and I always relayed the story of Terry Mesher. My sister Anne remembers him very well. I just wanted you to know that I am sorry for your loss and am sorry that I never got to meet the man that inspired my name. My sincerest sympathies, Tas

Lynn, I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am for what you and your family are experiencing at this moment. Although it is a blessing for Terry to pass so quickly and so peacefully, it is the worst nightmare for you being abruptly abandoned. You are in our hearts and in our thoughts at this dreadful time. We will stay close in the days and months to come.

Love and a big hug to you my friend…jh
