Passed peacefully at Victoria on November 24, 2011. Born in Bournemouth, England on May 22, 1919. Predeceased by loving husband Rev. Adolph Louis Sergent in 1967. Survived by her sons David and Mark (Michelle), grandchildren Matthew, Bradley and Jennifer, and great-grandson Quinton. Also numerous relatives in Britain and Eastern Canada.

Mary served proudly in the British Army as a nurse during WW2 and was decorated in the Korean War, serving on a British hospital ship. She also served 2 years in Japan following WW2. Following her service, Mary came to Canada where she was married and had a long nursing career in many capacities throughout the country. Mary had a long and happy retirement in Victoria, and spent her last 3 years at Oak Bay Lodge. Mary was a long time member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church and a member of Ruth Chapter O.E.S. among other organizations. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Oak Bay Lodge for their excellent care of Mollie in her last years.

Visitation will be at ST. STEPHEN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 12:30 pm. Service to follow at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Saanichton, BC. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
