After a courageous battle with cancer Linda passed away on June 4, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born in Victoria on November 3, 1961. Predeceased by her father Henry, Linda is survived by her mother Irene, sister Diane, brother Don, sister-in-law Julie, cherished nephews Graeme and Cameron, her Aunt Joan, and many caring and supportive cousins and friends. Her warm lap will be missed by Sheba and Ember, the family cats, who gave Linda great comfort.

Linda grew up in a wonderful Oak Bay neighbourhood free to play and explore places like Willows Beach and Uplands Woods. Friends from school were still part of her life; she was blessed to have friendships that lasted decades. While still at school she started working at Zellers making many treasured friends who were with her throughout her life. Stories about working at Zellers were still being shared around her hospital bed. They were a caring group of co-workers and the family appreciated how they supported Linda throughout her illness.

Linda was always ready for a sunny vacation; Hawaii, Mexico, Disneyland or Vegas, often with friends from the potluck group. She had many special memories from her trips. Hockey games, wine tasting, shopping trips, these women did it all, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Family was very important to Linda. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. We loved Linda so much and will miss her with all our hearts. The memories of our times with her, birthdays, firework night at Butchart Gardens, walks around Inner Harbour and summer barbecues, will always bring a smile to our faces and be treasured forever.

The family would like to thank Dr. Allan for her compassionate support during Linda’s illness and all the wonderful staff at the Cancer Clinic. We truly appreciated the staff at Victoria Hospice for the tender care they provided at the end and the Palliative care team that supported her at home.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at McCall’s Floral Chapel, Johnson St on Friday June 13, 2014 at 2 pm.  A reception will follow at McCall’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to BC Cancer Agency or Victoria Hospice.  Condolences may be offered to the family below.
