George White, 82, died May 23, 2014, under Hospice care in Victoria, BC, only six months after his wife’s passing. George was born January 10, 1932, in Toronto, Ontario, and moved to Victoria in 2001, with his wife Madeline where 3 of their 4 children were residing. George was a poet and writer at heart. He was a master plumber and an inventive man, continually working on new ideas for reusing existing materials. His projects ranged from the renovation of their 100+ year old farm, converting a portion of the barn to living quarters and developing a recreation area which was enjoyed by friends and family for many years; to submitting ideas for the capping of the oil gusher in the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. George is survived by his 2 daughters, Rhonda and Ramona; 2 sons Richard and Ross; his sisters, Shirley, Merelyn, and Hilda; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. A celebration of life for both George and Madeline will be held at a future date with friends and relatives being notified of the date by family. Special thanks to the palliative care teams. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Victoria Hospice Foundation, (250-519-1744).  Condolences may be offered to the family below.
