Passed away peacefully on October 22, 2010 with his two daughters by his side. Franco was born on March 3, 1921 in Colza (Vas) in Northern Italy and immigrated to Victoria in 1963. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Elsa, in 2003 and is survived by his daughters, Germana (Roy), Edda (Dale) and grandchildren, Leia (Peter), Scott and Kellie. Dad was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He had the best sense of humour and was always the life of the party. Although he loved camping, hunting, fishing, watching Italian soccer and taking long walks, he especially loved to sit around the kitchen table with family and friends, enjoying a glass of home-made wine and eating a good Italian meal.

“Dad, it was so hard to see you take those last few breaths of life, but we know that now you are at peace and happy with mom again by your side. Baci and Ciao for now Dad and Nonno! Love you lots!”

The family would like to thank all the staff at Selkirk Place who looked after dad for almost two years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, 785 Burnside Road West, on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Private Entombment for family at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, can be made in Franco’s memory to the B.C. Cancer Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.
