May 4, 1952 – March 31, 2014

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness, I announce that Susan passed away suddenly at home.  Susan was born in England and spent most of her early childhood in Vancouver before moving to Victoria.  During her working years in Victoria, Susan touched the lives of so many people.  Susan lived a life full of movement and vitality.  She loved the seaside and the sunshine, spent countless hours attending to her patio garden, enjoyed gourmet cooking, dancing, working to complete jigsaw puzzles and special gatherings with family and friends.  Predeceased by her father, David Edward and her mother, Denys Joyce.  Survived by her sister, Carol, family in England, United States and right across Canada as well as extended family and many many friends.

A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:30 pm at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets with a reception to follow in McCall’s Family Centre.  In honoring Susan, any charitable donations can be made to the B.C. Cancer Society.  Condolences may be offered to the family below.

A Sister holds your hand for awhile but holds your heart forever.  I will miss you.

Hi Honey. It was 7 years ago, Wednesday August 18th that I placed your ashes with my dearest friend, in with Mom and Dad. We made sure you went in style and we later celebrated at The Glo restaurant on the Gorge, one of your favourites. Every day we celebrate you. Miss you dearly. Love as always, your sister forever, Carol.

It is six years to this day that the service was held for my dearest sister Susan. There is not a day goes by that I still not think about your loving kindness and special way of being you. As I said before a sister holds your hand for awhile but holds your heart forever. Miss you always

    Carol

You have been in my thoughts since I heard of Susan’s passing. I will miss her terribly as she was someone who I grew to rely on. She was always positive and grateful for what life had to offer. She was very caring and loving when my mom passed away a few years ago. She understood what I was feeling and it helped to talk to Susan about my mom as she knew her well.

This will be a hard time for you and down the road I hope the memories of your sister will comfort you.

    Take care
