It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather. John passed away peacefully on July 20, 2010.John was born December 14, 1921 in Ponta Garca, Azores and moved to Victoria in 1966 with his wife, Mariana and two children.
John was a proud, hard working, honest man all his life. He was a good husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family and give them the best life he could. John was a passionate gardener who took immense pride in his garden and greenhouse. His biggest joy in life was his family and his gardens.
John will be missed and remembered by his family, son John Mariano (Piedade); daughter, Lucia and grandchildren: Paulo (Mary), Arnaldo, Carla, Leanna, Cassandra and Salina and his great grandson; Noah.
Prayer Service will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4635 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria BC, on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park. The Reverend Father Manuel Cardoso will be officiating.
