Dear Gill, nearly two years have passed since your mother’s death, and I’m so sorry I didn’t hear earlier. Please accept my late condolences. I suppose I met your parents scarcely more than half a dozen times, but they were so much a part of my mother’s family, I felt they were no strangers. I am the daughter of Barbara and Brit Brock My mother was Mick’s aunt, the second daughter of Grote Stirling. With best wishes,
    Elizabeth Robertson

My sympathy to you , Gill, and your brother in the loss of your mother. I remember meeting your parents when my late husband and I moved into Oak Harbour in 1981. After the move to Carleton House sometimes I would meet your mother on the Avenue. Later, our mutual cleaner would answer my question of how Mrs Stirling was. Sheelagh was a very sweet and lovely lady who had a long and wonderful life.

Gil, Anne Charles let me know of your Mother’s death. Please accept my condolences at this sad time. We tried to get in touch with you for the 50th reunion of our class from “the Convent” which was held last June in Halifax but no luck. Please know that there are many who think of you and are saddened for you at the loss of your Mum. I have some far back memories of being at parties at your house on Oxford St and know that your parents were there. Your Mother seems to have had a full life and I expect you have many wonderful memories to sustain you at this difficult time.
    Love and Prayers Sheila Donahoe

I was lucky enough to have met this beautiful soul and be a part of her extended family. I had the privilege of spending some wonderful Christmas’s and Birthdays with her. She was always gracious, polite and had a genuine interest in how you were . I’m happy that she is at peace. She will be missed dearly.
