Rosena Catherine McCann

Rosena Catherine McCann peacefully departed this world to go home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 8, 2009 just short of her 87th birthday. Rose was born in Belfast, Ireland and was the youngest of nine children. She and her late husband John immigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Guelph, Ontario. John and Rose retired to Vancouver Island in 1988. Rose will be greatly missed and never forgotten by the many lives she touched. She is survived by her children Brian (Cathy), Deirdre (Ron), Bart (Marina), and Dermot along with her grandchildren Jesse and Eliza.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 3 p.m. with her son-in-law the Rev. Ron Corcoran officiating. The service will take place at the Church of the Nazarene, 4277 Quadra Street. In lieu of flowers donations to the Mustard Seed Food Bank would be sincerely appreciated as this organization was very dear to Rose’s heart. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to the exceptional staff at Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion who became Rose’s extended family for the last thirty months of her life. May honor, praise and glory be to Jesus Christ her Saviour, the God of all comfort through whom Rose has been able to say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and I have kept the faith.” Thanks be to God!
