Bob was born in Weston Ont. and the family moved to Victoria when he was five. He attended Sir James Douglas Elementary, Central Junior and Victoria High Schools. He remained close to his childhood friends. He joined Cubs, Seacadets and played baseball and hockey.

Bob and Kathleen met in Victoria. Kathleen lived in Vancouver so they had a long distance romance for a year. Bob went to Vancouver for a course and stayed. They lived there for five years. Then they moved to Victoria and bought a house. The summer holidays were spent going on camping trips with the family.

Most of his working life he was a drywall finisher working for Benton and Overbury Ltd.

Some of Bob’s favorite things to do were playing his guitar, going golfing with friends and watching Canucks hockey games. The dogs, Buddy and Copain will miss their long walks at the Lagoon with Bob.

Bob was a wonderful husband, being with Kathleen every day through her long battle with cancer. He was a caring father, very proud of his children and a doting grandfather. He was a thoughtful son, always helping his mother. A great brother, his humor got us all through both the difficult and the fun times and an uncle who was always interested in our lives, being a good listener.

His Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson and Vancouver Streets. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Victoria Hospice Society. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

To quote Bob: “When you surround yourself with good people, good things will happen.”
