He is survived by his four daughters Anne and David Morgan of Edmonton, Gwen of Edmonton, Catherine and David Ellis of Victoria, Fiona of Edmonton; two brothers Richard (Dick) and Gerald (Jerry) and  his sister Marion; 8 grandchildren Kristy Rae, Michel, Heather, Daniel, Adam, Amanda, Carolyn and Lee and 5 great grandchildren Halie, Taylor, Jordan, Michael and Cadence. Bob was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, the oldest son of Robert E. (Alf) Garneau (1909-1997) and Marion Elizabeth Salzl (1910-2009). Bob spent 35 years with Northwestern Utilities in Edmonton before retiring to Victoria with Pat where they had lived for a short time after they married while Bob was in the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob and Pat enjoyed many holidays travelling in their motorhome touring various parts of Western Canada and the United States and loved to spend time watching the cruise ships from the Esquimalt Lagoon. Bob had varied hobbies over the years, golfing, curling, fishing, photography, and was a member of Big Blue and Cousins Computer Club and a long-time member of the Edmonton Chapter of SAMIES IOOB.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderfully compassionate staff at the Glenwarren Lodge for their excellent care, kindness, with extra heartfelt thanks to Courtney, Laura, Maria and Heather.

Bob was a valued member of the Big Blue and Cousins Computer Club. He contributed many hours to helping other members update their computer skills. He and I used to share stories of our time in the cruiser HMCS ONTARIO back in the 50’s.
    He will be sadly missed.
