PRIDMORE, Gladys (nee Dayton)

In Memorial

Died peacefully on June 3, 2009 at the age of 92. Gladys was born on January 29 during the famous blizzard of 1917. She is sadly missed by her sister and best friend for 89 years, Grace Dayton, her older sister, Daisy Goley, and her nieces Shirley Townsend, Beverly Lowe, Marlene Goley, their husbands and families. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, her parents William and Maude Dayton, and many close relatives and good friends.
Aunt Glad enjoyed life. She loved her work with Lockheed’s Catering and Royal Roads Military College as the Dining Room Supervisor. She enjoyed travelling with her friends and was the first to get tickets to the latest musical or show. Her home and garden were her pride and joy. She was a gifted seamstress and loved to crochet. All of us remember Aunt Glad for making every moment together an occasion. She fed us well, entertained us well and loved us the best.
A special thank you to all the staff at the Priory. Your love and tender care was a blessing to Aunt Glad and to all of our family.
Please join our family for a tea to celebrate her life on Friday, June 12 at 12:30 at the place that was dearest to her heart, her home and garden.
To honour the special place in Aunt Glad’s heart for her feline friends, please make a donation to the SPCA in lieu of flowers.

Messages of Condolence

  1. William Randall and wife Brigitta says:

Glady will be missed. Her love of life and outgoing personality endeared her to many. We especially remember the great time she had when she and Mom visited us in Germany.

  2. Shannon Large {nee Provost} says:

I am very sorry to hear of Mrs Pridmore passing away and my thoughts are with you. I am also very hurt that you did not call me to know of her passing away or of the day of the garden celebration as I would of loved to be there as me and Mrs Pridmore were together for 8 years that I was working for her and she helped me out through some tough times in my life which I will be forever gratful to her. She was very dear to my heart. I found out from Mrs Howard that she was in the Gorge and I went to see her, but I don,t think she really knew me, she seemed very happy though and in good spirits and I had left you a note in the mailbox to call me, but I guess no one got it. I hope her sister is well, she must miss her ever so much. She was such a wonderful lady and I will also miss her. Her friend Shannon (also housecleaner and gardner for her)
