I am the daughter of Christopher Gadd who is the son of Leonard Gadd from Somerset (U.K). My father met Bill and Mabel Hicks when he was seven years old and gave them a threepenny piece. We lost touch over the years, but wrote to Phylis when Mabel was well into her nineties. That was the last we heard.

We offer our condolences and thank the Lord for her witness and testimony.

Darrell Smith here, son of Beverly Smith. Both my mom and I studied piano with Ms. Hick. In my case, I studies with her weekly all though grade school. Ms. Hick shared so much with me, her love for music and piano, it always felt like such a special treat to be able to sneak into her home to play her grand, and her love for the Lord. She lovingly nurtured my musical gifts, as well as encouraged me in the ways of Jesus. All of this instilled in me the passion to bless others though musical and spiritual formation.
Thank you Phyllis. My condolences to the family. Thank you for sharing her with us.

On behalf of the Victoria Branch of the B.C. Reg. Music Teacher's Assoc. condolences to the family of Phyllis Hick. As Br. Archivist , I met Phyllis several years ago when she was residing at the Victorian. Our Branch has a 'Memoriam Collection' of biographies of past members. Prime purpose being to preserve their memories and musical contributions. Phyllis very kindly helped me with Gladys Hick's Bio (member 1937 - 1944) and gave me a lovely photo of her. Also in Gladys' presentation are photos of Phyllis and Bernard as young students. This Collection is on display at our major events for people to look at. I will be adding a presentation on Phyllis also as she was briefly a member. If there is someone able to give me background information I would appreciate it. I do have a few details and of course her obit. Both these teachers helped guide many students over the years and although not long time members we wish to preserve their memory.
                            Very sincerely ,
                                            Wendy Maggiora, ARCT, BCRMTA
