Born on July 27, 1917 in Winnipeg Manitoba and passed away peacefully after a long and full life in Victoria, BC on April 26, 2016 with daughters, Suzanne and Louise, by her side. Predeceased by her parents, Dr. J. Phoenix and Blanche Decosse; brother, Bernard and sister, Lorraine Dupuis. She will be greatly missed by her family, Mark (Jillian) in Australia, Suzanne (Pat), Louise (Ian), Bill (Isabel, deceased), John (Sue) and Robert (Judi); 14 grandchildren, Aleisha, Trevor, Sarah, Courtenay, Eric, Hanna, Gemma, Mitchell, Bill Jr., Michael, David, Joanne, Timothy, Nadine and 14 great grandchildren, Angus, Maeve, Lennon, Torben, Indiana, Ryder, Sierra, Holland, Stephen, Nicholas, Jessica, Selene, Samantha and Spencer. She also leaves to mourn her beloved brother, Dr. Roland Decosse and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored.

Mom grew up in St. Paul, Alberta, graduated as an R.N. from Edmonton General in 1941 and also proudly served in The Royal Canadian Medical Corps (Lt.NS) from 1944-45. In 1953, she met and married our dad, Roy Coleman, while serving as head nurse at Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island. Together, they had many adventures, were active members of the Capital City Yacht Club and travelled the world. Mom enjoyed writing, painting and playing the piano but most of all, was happiest when with her cherished family.

Rest in peace sweet mom.

A Private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish. Private interment at Royal Oak Burial Park at a later date.
