Ruth (Dec. 26, 1922) passed away peacefully on November 15, 2015, at approximately 4:00 pm in the Victoria General Hospital, in the company of several family members. She was 92 years old. Earlier that day, she told the hospital staff that she was “going home today” and in the afternoon, she did.
She is survived by her siblings, Frances Hamilton, Joy Hampton and Jack Burdge and by her six children, Stan (Jan), Jim (Gail), Les (Carol), Bob, Ray and Maureen (Murray) Horton and their respective families. She was predeceased by her husband, Sid in 2000, as well as by her siblings, Jim Burdge, Doug Burdge and Winn Butcher.
A Memorial Service will be held at Elk Lake Baptist Church, 5349 Pat Bay Highway, on Saturday, November 28, at 2:00 pm. Refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camp Imadene Foundation.
