I am sorry for your loss. He meant a lot to me and those who worked with him. He always had a smile on his face and was always kind to those he worked with. He always had a great scene of humor. I remember we got one of those new toys with a baby bib and we took pictures of that on. He touched us all and it’s sad that some one that great has to leave this world so early.

  • Brian Twohig

Norm and Joan, I want to offer my condolences for this untimely and tragic loss.

  • Iris Felix

    Peace.

I was Mitchell’s uncle-in-law. I first met Mitchell when I took Alison and Mitchell to lunch. Mitchell hated mayonnaise and ordered his sandwich without it, but when it came it had mayonnaise on it. Mitchell being Mitchell did not want to make a fuss or send it back, so I made the fuss, which probably embarrassed Mitchell.

I only saw Mitchell and Alison occasionally after they moved to Ottawa and then Baltimore, but Mitchell always tried to make time when they came to Saanich so that I could visit with them.

I admired him so much as a husband, father, soldier, and friend.

You will live on in my heart and memories Mitchell.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. While I only knew Mitch for a short time, my memory is vivid of how nice and kind hewas and how he put a civys mind at ease when boating in Victoria when I was just getting aquainted with my now sister in law and husband. His kindness towards my now mother in law and myself at the centinnial celebration will always be remembered too. Our thoughts and prayers are with your spirit and family.

    Mitch’s family,

Enough cannot be said about how great a friend and colleague Mitch was. He wasn’t so much a subordinate as a peer. His dedication and lightheartedness made time pass so quickly; he was such a joy and privilege to work with. It is with immense sorrow that I extend my thoughts and prayers to you, but I know words cannot fill the void he left behind. I’ll never forget the good times we had working together.

Mitch, your gentle spirit and big heart will always be remembered. Thanks for the good times buddy.

Alison and Alex, It is with a very heavy heart that I send these condolences to you. Mitch was an outstanding soldier and friend. His dedication, initiative and team spirit was a great benefit to those around him. He will be truly missed by many. I remember when he won the Boogaard award, he was rewarded with a few tickets to an Ottawa Senator’s game which I believe was against Vancouver. He was asked to wear his uniform. He invited a few of his buddies and told them they too had to wear their uniforms. He said “if I have to wear a uniform, they do too”. It was a great night for all of them, they were all deservedly recognized during the game with a standing ovation from the crowd, shown on the big screen and on TV. I believe Vancouver won as well.
I know you and many friends have great memories, share them together.
Prayers and thoughts to you, Alex and your family.

    Alison and Family.

Please accept my sincere condolences. I had the pleasure of working with Mitch in CFS Leitrim Mission Management just before the Fort Meade posting, and found him to be an intelligent and top notch professional in all aspects, accompanied by a good sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by the Comm Rsch family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies to you Alyson and your family and Mitch’s family. I am still shocked by his sudden passing. I had the privileged to work with Mitch during the last two years of service in the military. Fine young man, funny, smart and very professional. His best topic to talk about was his son, at the time only 2 years old, you could clearly see his eyes just light up, the best accomplishment of his life. He will be missed by all his pears. Prayers and thoughts are with you in those hard moments.

Mitch, where ever you are, I am sure that you will be watching over your family and know that you will never be forgotten. So long buddy!

Alison and family, I would like to offer my sincerest condolences for Mitchell’s passing. I was lucky to become good friends with Mitch during our work in Port Security at CFB Esquimalt. Mitch was always a loyal and kindhearted friend. Mitch was much loved by everyone who crossed his path; with his witty humour he kept us all sane during our long shifts at work. He is one of the most compassionate people I have had the honor of being friends with.

Mitch, you will be sorely missed, but I’ll be sure to remember you for all the fun that we had and the good that you did in your life.

Thinking of you all in this very hard time.

    With much love, Angela

Although I didn’t personally know Mitchell, I have been a friend to the family for many years. I am so sorry for your loss. How terribly sad to lose someone so young. Your hearts will just be breaking right now. In time I wish you all healing. In the meantime sending you much love while you endure this all.

  • Stacey, Nate, Jackson, and Gabriella

I’ll always remember Mitchell as the dad who was at group one day in the corner, not really talking but everyone was all ‘ohhh who’s that??’ then walked in Alison and sweet little Alex and we all saw the love they have for each other as Alison’s face lite up and baby Alex had a big smile on his face. Always up for a good one liner, and laugh.
Alison and Alex we miss you dearly here in Ottawa. You had a short time here with friends; hopefully soon our paths will cross again.
With love, hugs, respect and support May Mitchell Rest in Peace; Thank you for your support to our country!

    Good Day,

I served with Mitchell here in Maryland. We didn’t know each other prior to this posting and we weren’t as close as some others (which is my loss) but we did like and respect one another. We shared company mainly at detachment events, PT and such and he never failed to make me laugh or smile (granted I am one to find almost anything funny or amusing but Mitchell was very witty and had a good sense of humour). I just want to offer my profound condolences and that he will be missed. I truly wish I had taken the time to get to know him better; something I will regret for some time. He was an inspiration to more than he knew and we are all better for knowing him.

  • PO2 Wesley Lake

Condolences to the family, he will definately be missed by his Military family.

  • CWO William Hildreth

    Alison and Family.

It was with a saddened heart that I heard the news of the passing of Mitchell.

There are certain individuals you meet in life that truly stand out. In the Military there are those you meet that you know immediately can go far. MCpl Keller was one of those individuals. I had the opportunity to interact with then Cpl Mitchell several times in Leitrim and from the first interaction; he demonstrated his professionalism and the drive to always go that one more step. I remember calling his section one day because of an issue I had with my accounts. After the call, I thought maybe I had better go over to the section in person. By the time I had gotten there, he was nowhere to be found. Why – because he was already handling the problem personally instead of simply sending an email off to get the problem remedied. This is the type of person he was. He always stepped forward and took the initiative and was fully dedicated to making things right

Although no words can really help to ease the loss to you, your son and the Keller family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Mitchell always had time for me during the courses we took togehter. Infact, I have no trouble saying that without his help, constant help, I wouldn’t have passed a career course. He a sincere guy and quite frankly his presence will be missed. My condolences to his family and close friends. I will miss his massages.
