Lawrence and I were planning to attend your father’s memorial but a winter cold took the best of us and we didn’t want to spread it. We have known Gordie for many years as a caring neighbour and friend. He and Mary were the symbol of what we think Shoreview Drive has become. We look out for each other and we know that they are now together, spreading that goodness in other places. My sister Madeline Dent, who lives in our basement suite wanted to share her condolences too. She has met Gordie and thought he was a very nice man.

    Carol, Gary, and Ken
I was so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing.
Your Dad was such a wonderful person, quick to smile with a warmth that instantly brought back fond memories of both your Dad and your Mom.
I remember your Dad and Mom as such incredible loving parents, so proud of their family, so quick to welcome people into their home, treating everyone like family.
I know you are going to miss your Dad, but I also know that your Dad and Mom raised you to be the same strong, loving people that they were, and that you will continue to feel their presence in the years to come. They will still be with you, supporting you, guiding you, and giving you the strength the move forward.
I wish I could be at the service to celebrate his life with you, but unfortunately cannot make it.
I will be thinking about your Dad and your Mom and all the great memories I have of them, and will be thinking of all of you, in this sad time.
    Lots of Love,
    Leslie (Heron) Synhorst
