Allan passed away peacefully on February 6, 2016 at Oak Bay Lodge. He was born on October 26, 1927 in Edmonton, Alberta, and moved to Victoria at the age of 5. He was involved in two successful business careers, coming out of retirement at the age of 60 to start another one with his son David, until retiring for good at 79 years old.
Allan is survived by his son David, daughter-in-law Lise, grandchildren Sara and Joseph and great-grandchildren Lilly, Jaydyn, Bentley and Jayce, and sister Verna Bennett of Qualicum Beach. He is predeceased by his wife Elgin (2005), brother Frank and sister Jean Nelson.
Many thanks to Dr. Patterson for many years of caring attention and more recently to Dr. Vaughan and the entire staff of Oak Bay Lodge for all their care and support.
At Allan’s request there will be no service, but donations, if desired, may be made to the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation.
Allan kept his sense of humour until his last days … He will never be forgotten.
