Born on August 20, 1938 in Vancouver, BC, Diane died suddenly and unexpectedly in her home of more than 65 years in the early morning hours of January 7, 2016.

Predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Pauline and Wally Day, and many other family members, Diane is survived by her sister, Paula; brother-in-law, Emam; niece, Naomi and several cousins.  She also leaves a number of good friends with whom she shared a lifetime of memories.

We would like to acknowledge her cousin, Wendell, who always appeared to make certain her steps were free of ice and snow and Bob Adams who cut her grass into his ninetieth year and continued to plant and tend her flowers in the summer of 2015.

Diane gave generously to a number of groups and charities including the Dandelion Society and the Victoria Symphony, but one of her favourites was Tryntje Horn and the Nana Foundation (Tryntje Horn/Nana Foundation, P.O. Box 31114, University Heights RPO, Victoria, BC V8N 6J3).  In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s memory would be appreciated.

Paula, Naomi and Emam will miss her terribly. Words cannot describe the hole left in our lives with her unexpected passing.  We have lost not only a sister and aunt, but also a very best friend.

Diane will be laid to rest in Royal Oak Burial Park where her parents and many other family members also lie.

Rest in peace, dear soul – reunited with Mom and Dad.

A small gathering of Diane’s friends and family will be held at Adrienne’s Tea Garden, one of Diane’s favourite spots.
