Carlo (Pete) Desmond Pedersen, 89, actively embraced life until his peaceful passing on January 28, 2016 in Victoria. He was predeceased by his wife Leora Mary (nee Davidson, d.1983) the mother of their only and surviving child, Sharon Carlee Vipond (Bill). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tim (Barbara), Anthony (Lindsay) and Evan (Zoë); his wife, Elizabeth Eileen (m. Horth, nee Kerrone), and her children, Gordon (Fiona), Susan (Chris) and Daniel (Ginnie) and grandchildren, Fraser, Dillon, Mairi and Aidan.
Eldest of five sons of George Ingraham Pedersen (Denmark) and Gladys Gertrude (Chritcher) Gilson, he is survived by his youngest brother, Otto (Thérèse).
He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed in countless ways for his deeds and accomplishments as master craftsman, naturalist, farmer, WW2 vet, kind friend, gentle caregiver, community volunteer, and golfer; loving and grateful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
Funeral services will be performed by Michael Hemmings at 2:00 pm at St. David’s by-the-sea, 5182 Cordova Bay Road, Victoria on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Reception immediately following at McMorran’s Beach House, 5109 Cordova Bay Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously suggests donations be given to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Ashes will be placed at the Royal Oak Burial Park.
