Beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend. Predeceased by brother Iain and sister Catriona, Ann died peacefully at home, leaving Gordon, her loving husband of 46 years; children Mairi, Christine (Jeff) and Gordon (Michaela); grandchildren Sophie, Angus, Catriona, Kate, Charlie, Olive and Margaret.

Ann was born in Glasgow and raised on the Island of South Uist. She came to Canada in 1968 where she met her future husband, and they married in Scotland in 1970. Ann was a respected and loved teacher in the Victoria School District until she retired in 1996. She was a founding member of the Victoria Gaelic Choir and was a popular singer at Vancouver Ceilidhs, having won the medal for traditional Gaelic singing in Scotland in 1962. Ann had profoundly strong faith. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church choir for many years and was involved in volunteer activities at both St. Patrick’s and Holy Cross.  Ann loved to garden and entertain and most of all to spend time with her grandchildren. Although family was her first priority in life, she also served and helped the less fortunate. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A Vigil Prayer Service will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish on Sunday, July 24 at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish on Monday, July 25 at 12:10pm with a reception following in Our Lady of Lourdes Hall.

Thanks to Dr. Childs, Dr. McGhie, Dr. Rauw and the many nurses at the Cancer Clinic.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Ann was so special, and so loved, by everyone that knew her. I have many wonderful memories growing up in Victoria with her and your whole family. She was one of my Mothers dearest friends, and her warm, generous spirit will always be remembered.

I will always remember Ann as a devoted teacher, colleague, and friend. As her classroom was next to mine at LJSS, she was always there to guide and advise me during my early years there. Her sense of humour, and no-nonsense approach (as Carmen Santorini puts it) was a appreciated by us all. She was a devoted mother who spoke about her children and grand children with great pride. She was also a proud Scott and gifted story teller. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I was fortunate to work with Ann for a number of years. We all loved and admired her.
We all appreciated her great sense of humour and no non sense approach in difficult situations.
I will keep my fond memories of you Ann, rest in peace !

What a loss. I taught at Landsdowne Jr. Sec. many moons ago and always knew that Ann could be counted on to offer reliable and wise council whenever needed, be it for individuals or during staff meetings. Bless her.

In life, in death, in life beyond death, we are not alone; thanks be to God.

    To Gordon:
Ann has been a wonderful grandmother to Angus and Catriona. Her love and influence are apparent in how they speak of her. For that I thank her. My sympathy is with you now as you must carry on without that lovely helpmate.

To Mairi, Christine and Gordon Jr:
The great sorrow of being without your mother will eventually be overcome by the many happy memories I know she has given you. I barely knew Ann, but it was enough to know what good care she took of all of you.
