On behalf of the Royal Victorian Fashion Society, I send our condolences. Naida was a very active member in the group for many years. She was creative and a fabulous sewing. She brought laughter and a sparkle to our group. She talked about her kids often and was very proud of them. We trust your memories will bring you peace.

I am so sad that I couldn’t attend the memorial service for Aunty Naida and wished I could have spent more time with her while she was at Ross Place. I have wonderful memories of visiting with Aunty Naida and Uncle Alvin when we were younger. It was always a treat. My best wishes to all you boys. May her memory forever live on in all our hearts.

To the lovely Stokes family, I send my sincere condolences as you reach out to each other for comfort and love. Naida was such a special woman; I will remember her always as a very dear friend, we were confidantes with each other, and even though we didn’t see each other often, when we did it was like we’d never been apart. I loved that she always considered me as part of the family. Over the years I came to realize what a talent she had for art and for sewing, both things near and dear to my heart. Her costumes alone were extraordinary. I loved her sense of humour – with five sons she had to have a good sense of humour and she was always willing to share some of the great stories. I would like you all to know I will miss her very much. From the bottom of my heart, I hope her spirit will live on in all of you; her sons, wives, grandchildren, and, of course, her grandchildren.
    With love, Mickey

I have such fond memories of Auntie Naida. She was there for me at a time I needed a little help. I will never forget her love and compassion. She was always bright and happy and made me feel like she enjoyed visiting with me whenever I saw her. You will always be thought of with love and sorely missed.

Naida spent countless hours volunteering for Santas Anonymous at Hillside Mall and many other venues. Such a outgoing and generous woman. Her family should be proud.

So many of my earliest memories include Auntie Naida, Uncle Alvin and all the boys in Victoria during the summers when I was young. She always treated me like a daughter whenever I visited….such sadness.
