McCall’s Receives BBB Torch Award for Lifetime Achievement
Victoria, BC – The Better Business Bureau of Vancouver Island presented its annual Torch Awards on March 21, 2006. McCall Bros. Funeral Directors Ltd. was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Marketplace Ethics and Integrity. Three generations of McCall’s were present to receive the award: from right to left, Torrey A. McCall (2nd generation), David A. McCall (3rd generation), Craig McCall Williams (4th generation), along with current General Manager, Stuart Carrol.
Candidates for the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics are evaluated by an independent panel of judges on the following criteria:
- High ethical standards of behaviour towards customers, suppliers, employees, and communities in which they do business
- Demonstrated ethical practices surrounding their buyer/seller relationship
- Marketing, advertising, communications, and sales practices which reflect a true representation of what is being offered in the marketplace
- Acknowledgment of ethical marketplace standards by industry peers and in communities where they do business
- Ethics policies that are effectively communicated to employees
The McCall Family and Staff are very proud of this recognition by the Better Business Bureau and the award is displayed proudly in the foyer of the Funeral Home on Johnson at Vancouver Streets, Victoria, B.C., Canada.
