It is with a heavy heart and a huge sense of loss that a good man was taken too early.

Glenn was born in Victoria on January 25, 1967, and passed on October 15, 2014.

Glenn grew up in Victoria and played many sports throughout his life, hockey, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, football, and golf. Glenn was an avid photographer and loved shooting his sporting events for ISN, especially Velox Valkyries and Mariner’s baseball.

Glenn leaves behind his mother Elaine, sisters Leslie and Marcie (Ted), nephews, Lee and Mark, great nieces and nephews, and many loving cousins. Glenn has gone to meet his Dad, Ralph who passed in 1989.

Glenn had many friends from all different walks of life and will forever be remembered for pulling a good prank and just making you laugh. He was an Electrician by trade and did his apprenticeship through IBEW Local 230 and Canem Systems. Glenn worked at the Times Colonist for the past 20 years and will be missed by many close friends and colleagues.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. David E. Bell for being the person you are and a great friend for years.

Glenn, we will love you forever and know that you are with Dad and the “3 Amigos” again.

A Celebration of life for family and friends will be held at McCall Bros, 1400 Vancouver Street, Victoria, BC on Thursday, October 23rd at 11:00 am. Glenn loved the colour purple and we ask that you wear “something” purple.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of ones choice, or Velox Women’s Rugby, 3957 Gordon Head Road, Victoria, BC.

I’m shocked and saddened by Glenn’s passing, He was a great friend at hockey and lacrosse games for over 30 years. He was always great to talk to and also had a great sense of humour. He photographed me at dinners with Gordie Howe and Guy Lafleur over the years and with those pictures I will always remember him. R.I.P. Glenn my friend you will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathies and condolences to the Ivens family.

Dear Elaine, Leslie, Marcie & family,

I was extremely saddened and shocked to hear the passing on my friend Glenn. I knew Glenn like everyone else in Victoria through sports but it was golfing at Gorge Vale together that you really get to know someone. Glenn was always an upbeat, positive person with a good sense of humour and that is important if you are going to golf with me and spend a minimum of 4 1/2 + hours with ME ! (I can be a bit high maintenance on the course).

My fondest memories of Glenn is that of our yearly golf trips to play our recipical golf clubs in Seattle every summer and how Glenn would help out with all the travel arrangements and do all the driving since he was always the most responsible one. I must say because of Glenn I do know every Heart song ever written, produced and sang, since it was his truck he also was the DJ in charge.

I will miss you Glenn, rest in peace.

It was a sad day when I got the phone call that Glenn had passed away. Glenn has been a great friend to my two boys and also to me. He was so kind to my grandchildren and I don’t think he ever missed any of their baseball, hockey or soccer game. Glenn was one of a kind, we will miss him. Rest in Peace.

    Hi

I was am so sorry to hear of Glenn’s passing. We knew each other playing hockey at Oak Bay. We had many funny time together with Robin, Dale, Shawn and myself.

Since I moved to Halifax we kept in touch via Facebook. He often shared his pictures with me and kept me informed as to how the guys were doing. I know that he is doing well where he is now.

My deepest condolences to you and your family.

My sincere condolences to Elaine, Leslie, and Marcie. I don’t think Glenn ever knew how much his friendship meant and how great it was to see him around town taking photos. There wasn’t a sporting event that I didn’t look to see if Glenn was around and no matter how busy he always had time to talk.

Glenn will always be remembered and never forgotten,

We are absolutely heartbroken at Glenn’s passing. He was an amazing man and a wonderful friend.
We will always carry such great memories of Glenn, whether it be from the baseball field, or from his
Christmas Eve visits with his homemade CD’s of Christmas music ! He was such a good, kind soul and
the world will be a sadder place without him here. We know he is with his Dad, and taking the most beautiful
pictures that heaven has ever seen.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and his entire family.

Dear Elaine, Leslie, Marcie & family,

It was a real shock to hear that Glenn had passed away.

Although I didn’t get to see too much of Glenn in the recent years, twice a year we would exchange birthday pleasantries on Facebook and he would always take the time to add a note referring to our past memories.

Some memories in particular were taking his Valiant up to Spectacle Lake to go to play pond hockey one winter, playing midget rep hockey together at Oak Bay, and in particular the “rooking” (now called hazing) event where Glenn looked out for me and made sure that I went first.

Glenn was always kind and positive person. We didn’t have a really good team at Oak Bay and far too often after a goal was scored or game was lost he returned to me and say “Don’t worry about it Cheater, we’ll get them next time.”

More recently, I always enjoyed seeing his skill at taking sports photos – I’m sure those athletes will cherish his work for years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Sincerely, Rob, Cindy, Haleigh & Noah.

Glenn, take care my friend – till we meet again. Cheater.
