Marshie McCall of Victoria
Born on March 26, 1917 in Victoria, B. C. Passed away peacefully at Glengarry Hospital on Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Marshie was predeceased by her loving husband Graham, in 1980; her identical twin sister Mary Boorman, in 1999 and her brother Greg Alexander, in 2001. Most important to Mom (Nana) were her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Barbara (Daryl) Williams and her son David (Debbie); grandchildren, Dan and Craig (Kati) Williams, and Stacey McCall, all of Victoria and Trevor McCall of New York; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Torrey McCall of Victoria, B. C. and many dear friends.
Marshie graduated from Victoria High School and with her twin sister Mary became a Registered Nurse, graduating from Royal Jubilee Hospital, class of 1939. She was a member of PEO, Chapter AB, and Daughters of the Nile. She was also a long time member of the Uplands Golf Club. The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Glengarry Hospital for their care and support of Mom in her final months. A very special thanks to her team of home support caregivers; Hermie, Nancy, Didi, Betty, Ella, Kathy, Janeth, Helen, Emily, Cora, and Rebecca, for their loving care over the past 4 years.
Family and friends may call and pay their respects at McCall Bros. on Sunday, January 22nd, 2006, from 2 to 4 pm. As a tribute to Marshie, a Funeral Service will be held at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Monday, January 23rd, 2006 at 10:00 am. A Reception will follow in the Graham and Torrey McCall Family Centre. Interment will take place at Royal Oak Burial Park, beside her beloved husband Graham. Donations, if desired in memory of Marshie, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #107 – 1001 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V8X 4C9 or to the charity of one’s choice.
