Dicksie was born and raised in Baldwinton, SK and passed away at the age of 86 on March 3, 2014 in Victoria, BC.  She moved to Edmonton as a young woman and met her husband, Neil soon after her arrival.  They married June 11, 1949 and lived much of their married life in Edmonton.  In 1968, Dicksie and Neil purchased a run down farm in Beaumont and made it into a lovely home and acreage where Dicksie cooked many delicious family meals for her children and grandchildren.  Dicksie was a devoted wife and mother.  She loved to garden, cook and knit.  She was the family historian and spent much time researching genealogy, creating several books complete with photos and family stories.  She enjoyed many holidays with Neil, highlighted by their many trips to Hawaii and Europe.

Dicksie is survived by her sister, Irene in Lloydminster; her sons, Gordon (Donna), Chris (Pat) and daughter Diane (Darrell) as well as six grandchildren, Carrie, Jaime, Heather, Carla, Rick and Paul and five great grandchildren.

In keeping with Dicksie’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.  She will be interred in Baldwinton, Saskatchewan at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Kiwanis Pavilion in Victoria, BC. http://www.kiwanispavilion.ca
