Maria do Carmo Raposo

RAPOSO, Maria do Carmo passed away with her daughters at her side in Victoria, BC on February 21, 2010. She was born in Sao Miguel, Açores, Portugal on December 14, 1920 and immigrated to Canada on July 1, 1993. Predeceased by her husband Joao Pedro de Medeiros and her son Joao Fracisco de Medeiros. She is survived by her daughters Fatima (David Amaral), Manuela (Manuel Teixeira), Zita Teixeira, Lizette (Jose Augustinho Tavares), Eduarda (Nicolau Goncalves), as well as, fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Maria was a hard worker and very dedicated to her family. She was an active member of the church, especially spending afternoons playing cards with the Golden Age Group. Her smile will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4635 Elk Lake Drive. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Parish on Friday, February 26 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
