Marg passed away peacefully at home with family after a long and difficult illness. A prairie girl from Meyronne, Sask., graduate RN from Regina General Hospital, post grad Margaret Haig Hospital, New Jersey, and head nurse of obstetrics at Regina General, Marg met a bright young physician, Dr. R.T. Hosie. They were married in 1952 and within 4 months moved to Iowa City where Marg worked to put Bob through a 4 year surgical fellowship. Marg and Bob returned to Regina with 2 young girls in tow to a practise for 6 years before making their home in Victoria. Married 62 years, she leaves to treasure a lifetime of memories her husband, Bob, children; Jill Ross (Bill), Judie (Jim Stone), Tom, Jane Papp (Jamie), and Rob (Brenda); 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by grandson, Robert Scott Stone, May 1, 2013 and her brother, Lloyd Thomas.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team, Dr. Susie Leggatt and Stephanie Steele.
A Celebration of Marg’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2964 Richmond Road, Victoria, BC on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 2:00pm with a light tea to follow.

Jim Biggs Bob, Marg’s suffering of the past number of years has now ended. For that you and your family can be thankful. And she left her family with the knowledge that you gave her your all in caring for her during her illness.
I am sorry that I was unable to attend the celebration of Marg’s life and contributing to the humor that you, your family and friends undoubtedly shared on September 8th.

Barney McKinnon Bob and family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences on your loss. I always enjoyed talking with Margaret: she was the most pleasantly forthright and forceful woman you could ever hope to meet. I was always hugely impressed too by the way she dealt with her condition: with never a word of complaint, almost as if it didn’t exist!
My kindest regards to you all.
