Madeline Antoinette Louise Bird

Peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on July 20, 2009 in Victoria at the age of 88 years. Born Madeline Tetrault in La Broquerie, Manitoba on July 13, 1921 and a long-time resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba and then Victoria, B.C.; she is survived by sons, Allan Remi (Darlene) and Francis Joseph (Laura); grandchildren, Angie (Don), Vincent, Steven, and Lily; great-grandsons, Brett and Corey; sister, Genevieve (Leslie); sister-in-law, Lorraine; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Pre-deceased by her husband of almost sixty-five years, Allan Laurie Bird, on October 22, 2007; Madeline was a sweet-natured, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was always ready to help others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at the Aberdeen Hospital (Lansdowne Unit) for the loving care they offered Madeline during the year and a half she lived there. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in ST. ANDREW’S CATHEDRAL, Blanshard and View Streets on Monday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. Tributes, if desired, may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
