July 8, 1945 – April 15, 2015

Our Dear Lynda passed peacefully after a heroic battle fought with courage and grace. After being diagnosed with cancer two years ago she continued to live life to the fullest.

Lynda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Les, in 2010 and her parents Charlotte and Duncan Smith. Lynda’s passing leaves many to mourn, including: sister Loa Kay Young; stepsons Dennis Mottershead (Marilyn) and Brian Mottershead (Jacquelyn); grandsons Bill and Ryan; great-granddaughter Olivia; nieces Jacquelyn  Smith (Ted) and Nicole Smith; great niece Brigid; great nephews Sean and Colin; many cousins; and dear friends Carol Ann and Ken Ebbs-Canavan, Judy Rogers, Bev and Dave Wright and Margie Labasan.

Born and raised in Victoria, Lynda graduated from Mount Douglas High School, went on to Business School and worked as a secretary for some prominent businesses in Victoria.

Lynda and Les loved to entertain and after his retirement enjoyed 20+ years of golf, cruising and wintering in Palm Springs.

Lynda will be remembered for her optimism, kindness to all, generosity, impeccable good taste, open friendliness and always being poised and gracious.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, Research Clinic, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5.

I am thankful for Lynda’s help during some of the Mt Doug 80th celebrations planning and her year of service on the Mt Doug Alumni Association board where she was a director just before she was diagnosed with her cancer.
