June 11, 1957 – February 24, 2014
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leanne. A bright light has forever left our lives. She passed away with her husband, daughter, sister and niece holding her hands. She has joined her mother Joan; her grandparents and her beloved dog, Taylor. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by her husband, Michael; daughters, Laura (Cuddles) and Andrea (Bob). Leanne’s grandchildren, Alex and Julia were the light of her life. They loved their Nana dearly. She will also be missed by her father, Harold Stubbs; sister, Janet (Steve); niece, Amanda; nephew, Ryan; brother, David (Barb); nephews, Nick, Daryl and Jay; aunt, Audrey (Jack) Nickolichuk; cousins, Kevin, Cara, Dawn and their families. Leanne cared for Teri and Jackie, special needs girls for 21 years who will also dearly miss her. Leanne was born and raised in Victoria. She went to college to work as a dental assistant for many years and eventually changed to become a foster parent. Leanne was an incredible loving and giving person “the glue” to a loving family. She fought her cancer with determination and grace, just as she left this world. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the incredible nurses in the “chemo lab”. You are all an inspiration and a light as Leanne spent a lot of time there over 2 years. Thanks to Dr. Anderson of BCCA and GP Dr. Leggett. Thank you to the Home Care Nurses and a very special thank you to the Hospice PRT team. Your support will always be remembered and cherished.
A private family gathering will take place to celebrate Leanne’s life. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I am still trying to accept the loss of my niece (Joan’s daughter). She was the first beloved baby in our family and my Godchild. She was and still is so loved by so many. She was a wonderful child and even more fantastic as an adult. Leanne is now reunited with her mother and my mom and dad. I know she is fine but I will miss her so very much. — feeling sad.
