November 16, 1938 – January 16, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karl Arthur Rowbottom in Victoria, BC. Karl was born in Roberts Arm, Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his parents, Mavis and John Rowbottom and his brothers, Jimmy and Lloyd Rowbottom. He is survived by his daughter, Meagan Yampolsky (Larry); grandchildren, Melissa, Ashley, Andrew, Marilyn, Courtney, Carter; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley, Mary, Rita; brothers, Gordon, Max, Albert, Brian and Bill; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. 
In addition, Karl leaves behind to mourn, his “Barn Family” and many other friends. Thanks to all who took care of Karl, especially Joanie.
At Karl’s request, there will not be a funeral but a Celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karl’s memory may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada, www.woundedwarriors.ca

Debbie Lavigne It is with profound sadness that this has come to pass. I offer my sincerest and most profound condolences to all who knew my “Uncle Karl”!! He was a wonderful soul and he told me he would be happy to go to Shew Cove and visit with my Dad earlier in the year.
My deepest and sincerest heartfelt condolences go to everyone who had the incredible luck in knowing him.

I wish to express my sympathy and condolences to Karl’s family. Karl was a treasured friend and my favorite (ex)brother-in-law. I was proud to be part of his extended family and will miss his point of view and sound advice. Not much escaped his notice, but he kept his observations to himself and didn’t condone gossip. He was non-judgemental and accepting of people’s shortcomings. He was taken from us far too early and will be deeply missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
