It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Ann McMaster.  Judy was predeceased by her husband Ron in 2012 and her daughter Kathy in 2000.  She is survived by her sons Jeffrey, David and Patrick; her daughter Liz and her eight grandchildren.

Judy studied English at the University of Portland and Capilano College. In addition to running a busy household for most of her life, Judy became a teacher in Toronto for several years.  Judy and Ron retired and spent their last 14 years together in Parksville, BC, enjoying their self-designed home and garden, their breathtaking views and hosting many family celebrations, including a few weddings.  Judy was known for being an avid reader of literature, loved the arts, gardening, sports and particularly loved travelling all over the world with Ron.  Her greatest passion was her family, to which she was so committed.  Her warmth, energy and strength inspired everyone around her – everyone who met her, loved her.  Judy struggled with COPD for the last few years of her life, but as usual, she fought with astounding strength and determination against this disease for many years.  This intelligent, passionate, beautiful woman will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Judy would appreciate this, as this is the disease that took the life of her eldest daughter, Kathy.

The family will hold a private ceremony and a Celebration of her Life at a later date.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
