Dear Maureen , Victor and families, I am so deeply sorry for your Loss. I only met Joyce a few times or spoke with her on the phone. She was a really nice person. Being Maureen’s sister I would hear many stories of all their times together growing up and as adults from Maureen so I got to know her better through the stories. I know she has left a big void for both of you and your families. Hopefully happy memories of times spent together fill the void and make you smile when you think of her.
    You are in my thoughts
    Sandy

    Vic,
I was so sorry to read Joyce’s obituary today. I remember her fondly from the time we spent together in the 1970’s when we both worked in Oak Bay (she at the real estate office, and me at the public library). We often met at lunchtime and had long walks and chats. I remember you both from square dancing through the years and your many hours working on the Cross Trail News. My thoughts are with you. My sincere sympathy, Gillian Pearson

    Vic & family,

It was wonderful to read that you, Vic, met Joyce on the square dance floor and that it extended to 20 years together.

The long-time publication of the reliable dance magazine that is the Cross Trail News is surely a legacy to Joyce for her interest in people and the love of square dancing.

I wish I was there in my boyhood at Price’s General Store in Langford to have Joyce serve me one of her famous giant ice cream cones.

My sincerest sympathy on your great loss.

    Victor, Maureen and families
I am so very sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. My favorite memory of Joyce was the giant ice cream cones that she would make for my friends and me on our way home from school. Price’s General Store was the hub of Langford and my Mum was happy to work along side Cy, Lil, Joyce, Maureen and Geraldine, who I might add knew where everything was in that store…all you had to do was ask! So many years have passed but some things are etched in our minds forever and always bring a smile!! Big hugs to all!!

  • Bob Loveless
