I worked with “Pit” at the BC legislature. Exchanging stories a few minutes at a time over more than twenty years I grew to know him well and am sincerely saddened to learn he’s gone.

As a newcomer to the Fairfield Family I was so happy to meet Gwen and Pete – the “unofficial officials” of the building. There was little that Pete could not or would not do for all of us neighbours and friends. He was a caring giant and so in love with his wife. He enjoyed all of the adventures they shared together and it was cool to hear him giggling about the things they got up to. I heard the boat building competitions on the cruises were pretty cut throat….right up his alley. We will all miss seeing him around but realize that things will be running very smoothly where he is now.
May the wind always be at your back Pete.

I was very saddened to hear of Pete’s sudden passing. Not only was I privileged to have served on his shift at the Legislature but also considered him one of my dearest friends. I will always remember the kindness he showed me and all the laughs we had. PS Sarah still has the extremely large stuffed cow he gave her. Take care of yourself Gwen and I will be keeping you and all your family in my prayers. Love Kathy

Dear Gwen I am so sorry to hear of Pete’s death. I was shocked and saddened to read about it on Friday. Pete was very helpful to me when I moved in to my condo and always stopped to have a chat to me when we met. You also helped me through all my travails. I wish you all the best.
