CABRAL, John Firmino passed away with his family at his side in Victoria on January 29, 2010. He was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on November 24, 1947. Predeceased by his parents Dionisio and Rosalina Borges and his brother Jose Dioniso. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Margarida; daughter Marlinda; granddaughter Isabella Moniz; sisters Isaltina (Nemesio Pacheco), Natalia (Antonio Raposo); mother-in-law Ermelinda Ramos, sisters-in-law Leonilda (Gilberto Costa), Adelaide (Jose Graca), Ermelinda (Avelino Borges); brothers-in-law Antonio Ramos (Conceicao), Jose Ramos (Iberia), John Ramos (Maria Da Luz) and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. John was a hard working, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Prayers will be offered on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at OUR LADY OF FATIMA PARISH, 4635 Elk Lake Drive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF FATIMA PARISH on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5.

    I’m sorry to see you gone. I will miss the times when i visited your house, filled with family and joy. My thoughts and prayers are with Tia, Marlinda and Isabella.
