James Alfred Moss

Jim passed away peacefully on Friday, November 20, 2009. He leaves his dear wife Betty; son Alan; daughter Pamela (Scott); grandsons, Slade, Owen and Quinn; brother Geoff (Jean) and nieces Gillian and Jennifer. He started his career in the Royal Airforce and trained as a radio technician. He was posted to the India Airforce in 1942 for four years. He came to Canada in 1957 and was with North West Telephone then B.C. Telephone as a microwave technician, advancing to planning engineer before his retirement in 1983. Jim enjoyed his family, fishing, boating, tennis, photography, music and wood work. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

A memorial tea will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the WATERS EDGE CLUB ROOM, 2600 Ferguson Road, Saanichton, BC from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victoria Hospice, 1510 Fort Street, Victoria, BC V8S 5J2.

    Dear Betty, Lynne Maple phoned us to tell us your sad news. We are in California and will be here until Dec. 1st.
    We remember so many fun times with you and Jim playing tennis in the desert, in the sunshine and in the wind. Jim was a wonderful man, much loved by all who knew him. We will phone you next week when we are back in Victoria.

    So sorry to read of Mr. Moss’s passing. I am an old friend of Allans from his school and rugby days. I never had the pleasure of meeting Allens father but he must of been a brillant man to raise such a fine son. My mother passed almost five years ago coming up soon so I know this is a hard time. My thoughts are with the whole family and wish you all well.
