October 15, 1930 – December 24, 2014
Iris was born in Windsor. She and her family moved to several locations in southern Ontario and settled in the Toronto area. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Doug and her sons, Lorne (Laurie), Gordon (Carolyn), Paul; daughter, Pamela (Tom) and six grandchildren and twin great-granddaughters. Iris enjoyed the mobility of service life with her husband’s RCAF postings to several locations in central Canada and a three year tour in Germany. As a working Mom, she served with the Manitoba Government in Winnipeg, the Trenton Ontario Hospital and the Bank of Montreal in Ottawa. After living in the Ottawa area for 25 years, she and Doug moved to Victoria, BC in 2008. She has been under the loving care of the staff at Glengarry Hospital since February 2013. We thank them for their kindness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets in Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Glengarry Hospital, 1780 Fairfield Road, Victoria, BC, V8S 1G7. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

You may not recognize the name but I am the gal you always saw at The Glengarry pushing around Peggy Mccarter. It was nice to meet you and Iris especially out on the patio. Glad when we finally exchanged names too. You were so wonderful to Iris and it was always a pleasure to see you two together. My thoughts are with you at this time.
