Passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on August 23, 2014. Helen was born in Roseisle, Manitoba on February 22, 1926 to Godfrey and Margaret Bottrell, the oldest of three children. In 1945, she married Victor Goertzen of Winnipeg, Manitoba and they had three children. In 1973, Helen and Victor moved to Victoria, BC where they became deeply involved with the Victoria Gospel Chapel. Helen enjoyed helping a great deal with the women’s missionary class and the ESL class which was held at the chapel. She was a very organized woman and benefited many with her secretarial skills and her hospitality.
Predeceased by her sister, Marion, and son-in-law, David, Helen will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Victor, her three children; Bob (Bernice), Barbara (Bill) Ensom, and Brenda Vidal; her brother Daniel Bottrell, his wife Margaret as well as eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park on August 30, 2014 at 10:30am, followed at 2:30 by a Celebration of Life and Tea at the Oak Bay Gospel Assembly, 1900 Oak Bay Ave., Victoria, BC.
