Gwendelyn May Shoquist (née Glennon) died peacefully at Kiwanis Pavilion on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Mom and Dad are now travelling together forever. Gwen was born in Banff in 1927 and moved to Saskatoon after marrying her husband Arthur in 1949. She and her family spent many happy summers at Lake Waskesiu, and many winters escaping the cold in Arizona. She and Arthur retired to Victoria in 1986.

Gwen loved to travel, especially to warmer climates such as Hawaii and the Southern States. She also loved to entertain family and friends, and found great joy in cooking and planning for parties and events.

Gwen is survived by her brother Bill and her sons James, Gordon, and Garry, with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Kiwanis Pavilion and Hart House for their kindness and care during the last few years. Those who wish to make memorial donations in Gwen’s memory may do so to a charity of their choice.

Memorial Service date to be announced.

Aunt Gwen was special to me as she and Uncle Art spent the time in Calgary (1985 I think) and Kade and I had time to spend with them, had nice lunches and of course she would look after Kade and thought he was such a good boy and so strong. Many happy memories.

    Jim, Gordon and Garry,
We enjoyed having your Mom stay with us at Hart House, and feel fortunate to have been able to meet and get to know you as well. Nothing made her prouder than when her “boys” and family members came to visit. Gwen was a real character with a soft heart. May the happy memories of your times together give you comfort.
    Best regards,
    Melanie & Bob
