Gordon passed away peacefully in his sleep, at RJH on June 16, 2015.  He was comforted by his loving family and friends who were with him that day and in the weeks prior. Gordon received his BCom and his CA designation from UBC in 1968. Gordon was held in high esteem by the Victoria business community. During his retirement, he continued to play an excellent game of bridge, which he mastered while working for BC Forests during his university years.
He was loved and will be missed by daughter Emily and grand daughters Evelyn and Hazel.
Predeceased by his parents Bob and Jean Clarke. Survived by brothers Robbie (Inge), David (BJ) and sister Marshia (Denis). Heartfelt thanks to Martha Menzies, James Rees, Robin Peacey and Fernando Cohelo whose love and support meant so much.

A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 2:30 pm.  Please email Emilyreesmail@gmail.com for address.  Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I was very saddened to hear of Gordens passing. He played a big part in our families when they were all young. We went on Summer camping vacations and my children still talk about them.We lived in a very close neighbourhood and the door was always open. One of my fondest memories was when the swimming pool was being set up Gorden appeared in his impeccable Bermuda shorts with a silver tray and waterford glasses filled with wine!

My sincere condolences to Emily who was Gordon’s daughter and who loved and cared for him up until the day of his death. HIs passing has been very difficult for all of his family as it marks the end of our hope for a happier life, which he so deserved but could not achieve although he tried so hard. His Celebration of Life on Sat. June 27th. was testimony to how many people cared about him . My sorrow is that we did not create such a day, years ago and bring all these friends, family and admirers together to let him know he was loved, and missed whereby he may have achieved his happier life on earth.

I thank all of the his friends and family and co workers for coming out and hearing what Emily and several others shared with all. Thank-you to Cal Potter and Jenny McCleery and Charles Bowles for their kind and humorous stories of their tine with Gordon. There was a silent Angel amongst us by the name of Fernando Coelho,, who I offer a special tribute as he was Gordon’s Guardian Angel for at many years and up to the last moments of his life..Fernando carefully watched over Gordon and cared for him as needed on each and every occasion of need. He was also a very good friend , as he took Gordon on a road trip and retraced Gordon’s steps while working in the woods in BC Forrest Service, while going to University. Fernando you were everything to Gordon and he loved you as you loved him. You are now a member of our family and will keep you close in our hearts and in our lives. Thank-you to all who were able to “turn up” and to those who sent support and love with cards and phone calls., and writing in this book. It means a lot to those who he has left behind.

I enjoyed getting to know your dad during his visits to revelstoke court. There was something about him that reminded me of my own dad. I think he liked meeting new people and engaging in good conversation. Hope he finds my dad up there in the universe and they can play bridge together. Xoxo
