August 4, 1914-March 5, 2015 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend Georgie at the age of 100 years. Born in St. Vital Winnipeg, she was the only daughter of Georgina & William Hern. At the age of 30, Georgie moved to Calgary where she was employed by the Hudson Bay Oil Company until her retirement. Following retirement, she moved to Victoria. Georgie loved to travel with her friends and take long walks. Reading, however, was her favourite pastime until Macular Degeneration took her sight and changed her world.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God chose for me
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left you all.
