Edward George Vincent Magee was born in Vancouver on March 20, 1931. He passed away in Victoria on July 14, 2015 as a result of complications from lung cancer.

George enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1952 and fought in the Korean War. He returned to Vancouver in 1954 and married Myrna Cooper. George joined the Canadian Air Force in 1955 and served in Comox, Zweibrücken, Moose Jaw, Trenton, Cold Lake, and finally back to Comox where he retired after thirty years of service. George spent the remainder of his life on Vancouver Island and lived in Courtenay, Youbou, and Victoria. George loved adventure, fishing, reading, blackjack, and poker. Some of George’s happiest times were spent with Myrna enjoying their many cruises around the world.

George is survived by his wife Myrna; daughters Janet (Terry) and Marilyn (Mark); son Bill; grandsons Michael, Dan, David; and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Parkwood Court in Victoria for their compassionate care.

A private family ceremony was held on July 17, 2015 at the Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria.
