    Chris and family
Here is a little memory of George’s wonderful sense of humour, from when I picked strawberries at your farm – way back in June, 1958, along with Ruthie Jacobsen and Lorraine Knutsen. We were let out of school a month early for this job, and the school required a Form signed by our employer. George signed my form, and then with a twinkle in his eye, he picked up a huge juicy strawberry, and like a rubber stamp, he squashed it on the form. “Okay,” he said, “that should give ‘em proof you were picking berries!” George gave us all goofy nick-names, (I was Long Sam), he joked with us, and he made a hot, back-breaking berry-picking job became tons of fun. We still laugh about those good times!
George will be remembered for his humour, kindness, and his great love for his family.
