It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend after a short illness. Born and raised in Pelly, Saskatchewan, Gay was a long-time resident of Brentwood Bay and later moved to Victoria. She was predeceased in 1986 by her husband Frederic (Red) Brownlee, a former RCMP officer and Chief of Police of Central Saanich. She will be dearly missed by her sister Kay Brown, her nephews David (Elaine) and Howard (Jeannie), grand-nephews Steven and Mike, and by cousins Phyllis Simpson, Barbara (Fred) Smith, Pete (Heather) Western, Joan Western (Steve Branston), as well as by her many friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be offered to the family through McCall Bros., 1400 Vancouver Street, Victoria, V8V 3W3.
