After a courageous battle with cancer, Gail passed away at the Victoria Hospice on April 4, 2014. Born May 21, 1943 in Victoria, Gail was predeceased by her parents, Reita and Robbie. Left behind is the love of her life, Ron; her two daughters, Kimberley (Dale) and Deanna (John); ecstatic to welcome her two cherished granddaughters, Taylor and Halle. She will be also missed by her beloved brother, Lesssley (Tigi); cousin, Barbara and countless family and friends.

Gail’s life was devoted to her family. She volunteered in many capacities at her children’s schools, and as a Coordinator with Block Parents, she worked closely with the Police at many fingerprinting events. Along with her family, they enjoyed many fun-filled years at their second home in East Sooke; camping, hiking and picnicking until she found “cruising” which she enjoyed immensely. Gail’s quick wit and sense of humour was always present and was a wealth of information.

Many thanks to all the doctors, nurses and volunteers at Victoria Hospice for all their kind care.

No service at Gail’s request. Her passing does not leave a hollow, but rather a soft, warm, sort of fuzzy spot.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honour to the Victoria Hospice.

We will miss her cheery smile and wit. She always made the day a little brighter at the campsite. We were lucky to have known her and know that she is having a great time on the biggest “ocean liner” that there is. God bless.

All of my heart goes out to you Dee, your dad and the rest of your family. It is a sad time for you and all those that care for you. Many envy the closeness your family shared over the years, I hope those good memories help you now when you need them. ( the fuzzy spot)

She was the best “second” mum a girl could have. I have so many memories of fun and happy times and I will miss her greatly. My heart is with you all. Love Tina, Stephen and Annaliese
