Thank you for the confidence you have placed in our funeral home. In the coming days, please know that we will do everything possible to meet and exceed the expectations you have entrusted to us.

You may have heard about the service we also provide following the funeral. This post funeral care program’s sole purpose is to help survivors resolve some of the practical business matters that can be most difficult after the loss of a loved one.

The list below will give you an idea of the ways in which our After Care Specialist, Audrey Morris is prepared to help. Our practice is to arrange for a time at your home or our office within a day or two after the funeral. Audrey will call you to set a time to get together. Her consultation usually takes about an hour. You will find her advice very worthwhile.

Canada Pension Plan & Old Age Security – Application for lump-sum death benefit, survivor’s pension and children’s benefit

Retirement and Pensions – Private, Provincial, or Federal application for survivor’s benefits

Insurance – Application for Life insurance benefits – Updating beneficiaries on existing policies

Title Transfers – Compiling a list of items for which transfers may be needed

Credit Card Cancellations – Contacting companies as needed.

Bank Account Updates – Adding names (of children or other survivors) – Confirming bank procedures for closing an account – Helpful information about joint accounts

Survivors Funeral Plan – Practical options for documenting your wishes – Consolidation of vital information – Certainty that your loved ones will not over spend or be without resources
